On April 14, the Police Day is celebrated throughout the Republic of Panama ; a special date that seeks to exalt the work of all men and women in uniform who, with their vocation and sacrifice, risk their lives to guarantee the peace and security of the entire country.
How was the celebration of Police Day in Panama born?
Police Day in Panama is officially born on August 24, 2000 through the General Order of the Day number 161. In this order it is decreed that every April 14 the Police Day is celebrated based on Law number 28 of the 28 of January 1937 that aspired to honor the work of these uniformed men.
This April 14, 2021, the 84th anniversary of the Police Day established in Law 28 is commemorated. Thus, one of the most important events of the National Police in the decade of the 90s was the enactment of Law 18 of December 3. June 1997. This law establishes the bases of the National Police, specifically its responsibilities vis-à-vis the Nation. Likewise, this law subordinated said institution to the legitimately constituted public power.
Thus, on this day we extend a greeting of congratulations to all the policemen in their day who with sacrifice and courage risk their lives in every part of the country to guarantee the security and peace of the entire country.
Thanks for the effort, discipline and sacrifice!
